[ACTUALIZACIÓN | Lee Mi experiencia como jurado en HackUPC]
Del 3 al 5 de marzo, el Campus Nord de la UPC (Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña) acogerá el HackUPC Winter 2017, un encuentro dirigido a apasionados del mundo creativo tecnológico, en el que programadores y diseñadores competirán por equipos durante 36 horas para desarrollar un proyecto innovador.
En su compromiso con el talento TI y la innovación tecnológica, Profile patrocina este evento, que ha sido organizado por estudiantes de la Facultad de Informática de Barcelona y que contará con participantes de universidades como Yale o Cambridge. En total son 500 estudiantes que han sido seleccionados por la UPC por su nivel técnico.
Los objetivos de este maratón tecnológico, en palabras de sus organizadores, son “extender la cultura hacker a escala española y europea y situar a Barcelona en el mapa internacional de las hackatons estudiantiles”.
En los últimos años el interés en este tipo de acontecimientos ha crecido notablemente. En la actualidad existen 200 hackatons por todo el mundo, algunos organizados por prestigiosas universidades en el ámbito tecnológico como UPenn, University of Michigan, MIT, Stanford o Berkeley.

In total, 500 students have been selected by UPC for their advanced technical level, some of whom will be from universities such as Yale and Cambridge.
The goals of this technological marathon, in the words of its organizers, are to «extend the hacker culture in Spain and Europe and situate Barcelona on the international map for student hackathons.»
