This initiative has made it possible to complete the catalog of QA tools and refine the implementation of the automatisms associated with FIATC’s delivery and deployment, integrating the SAST analysis and the early evaluation of the applications’ security. Additionally, the bases have been established for the creation of a QA office to govern these processes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Challenge<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

FIATC\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>is one of the main national insurers. It is immersed in an ambitious project to optimize different processes, methodologies and tools within the company\u2019s digital environment.<\/p>

In this context, it was necessary to define a series of\u00a0protocols and standards<\/b>\u00a0to process and guarantee compliance with an adequate\u00a0quality assurance of the software developed<\/b>\u00a0within the organization.<\/p>

As an initial requirement, FIATC demanded the implementation and configuration of the\u00a0static code analysis tool<\/b>\u00a0that would allow analyzing the technical debt of its assets. But also detect the possible vulnerabilities that these could have in terms of security such as SQL Injection, Log Injection, cross-site scripting, etc.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Our Solution<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The first step was to establish all the\u00a0CI\/CD flows and pipelines<\/b>\u00a0within the various existing projects. All of this was done on top of\u00a0Jenkins<\/b>, using separate pipelines for each project and environment.<\/p>

Initially, a\u00a0Gitflow methodology\u00a0<\/b>was established in the most current and leading projects. Once validated, it was extended to the rest of the entity\u2019s projects. Over a thousand to date.<\/p>

Next, the execution and validation of\u00a0Sonarqube results were integrated into the Jenkins pipelines<\/b>, enabling this cross-sectional analysis for the rest of the projects. Once the first reports on the security holes and bugs detected were presented, a protocol of action began to be discussed and formalized to address this deficit as soon as possible.<\/p>

Existing\u00a0gaps were identified<\/b>, such as the lack of functional documentation, an issue that was tackled with the support of the\u00a0QA team<\/b>.<\/p>

The toolchain was completed by choosing a\u00a0tool for prototyping and wireframes (Invision).<\/b><\/p>

Through the\u00a0test management tool Cucumber Studio (formerly Hiptest)<\/b>\u00a0all the scenarios and test runs of each project would be organized and analyzed.<\/p>

The foundations of the future automation framework were established by choosing a\u00a0framework based on Java, Cucumber, Junit, Extend Reports<\/b>\u00a0and connected via API to\u00a0Cucumber Studio<\/b>\u00a0to synchronize the results of each test run executed in the future in Jenkins.<\/p>

Finally, the foundations of what would be the\u00a0future quality office<\/b>\u00a0began to be established.
